HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO CLIMB?
There is no age limit young or old for climbing but here are something things to be aware of:
- children 6 and under must be at arms length from a parent or guardian at all times, unless on a rope climbing or with an instructor.
- Children under 11 must have a parent or Guardian present at the facility with them- unless during a program ( such a Groundlings, Fundamentals etc…)
- Only individuals 12 years and older are allowed to belay without supervision.
- All individuals under 19 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign their waivers.
WHY DO I NEED TO SIGN A WAIVER?
We are required by our insurance company to ensure that everyone using the facility fill out a release of liability waiver. If you have any questions regarding the activities we partake in at our facility, the waiver itself and our standards, please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to discuss our safety practices.
WHAT IS “BELAYING”?
Belaying, is a term taken from sailing meaning to “hold fast”. In climbing parlance, it means to manage a rope for a climber using a dynamic friction device. Within our facility, we allow the use of tube belay devices and Gri Gris. We require current manufacturer standard for the use of belay devices. If this is new to you and something you are interested in learning, see our Lessons to learn more!
How old do I have to be to belay on my own?
Belay age without adult supervision is 12 years old. For lead tests, and lead climbing the minimum age is 14 years old. Exceptions must have a managers approval.
What does a Belay Test Cost?

How does the Monthly EFT membership work?
When you sign up, it is pro-rated for the day you join until the end of the month. You also pay an initiation fee ( $60 for individuals and $80 for family). This payment is processed the day you join and then future payments are either electronically draw through credit card or account information on the 12th of each month.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN LEAD ROPE?
Nope! We provide all the ropes on site.

You are welcome to use your own belay device if it is an ATC or a GRI GRI. Otherwise we rent Gri Gri’s for $3 and loan out ATC’s in exchange for some collateral ( a piece of ID)
